"true" dual exshust (header back) any one?

4Runner Dual Exhausts
RXvedub and evryone else, haven't done it yet but here is what I did to my Tundra and it looks, works and sounds great.
Go to JC Whitney.com buy a dual in/dual out catalytic converter about $129 on sale, 2" in and out. Go to Sumitt and but Two Dynomax Super Hemi Turbo mufflers, 2" in and out, case should be 20-21" long, biggest they have.
Go to your local muffler shop have the "resenator" removed and weld in the converter, from there with 2" pipe out side by side, weld in the Hemi mufflers, pipes out over the axle out to one side, or one on each side.
I have this exact set up on my 2000 V-8 Tundra. It works great, no loss of torque and the sound is mellow until you get on it, then it sounds like a Mustang GT.....paid approx $500 for ALL. good luck, I will be doing this to my 03 4Runner soon. CSM-H

I bet you could take that one off. hmmm. maybe after its outta warranty. I can just imagine going to the dealer for any warrranty work with a true custom exhaust and missing a cat converter. They would shit a brick and use it as an excuse to not warranty anything! You know they would...:bash:

A lot of exhasut shops are leary of messing with a cat or even replacing it wiht a high flow unit unless you have alot of miles on it and it needs a replacing.
My friend went with a high flow cat to match his header and exhaust on his Type R with 15k on the odo and he went to 4 shops before he found one that would touch it.

Its actually a federal offense to remove a properly working cat. Although certain shops will do it.
Funny thing is, high flow aftermarket cats are generally better scrubbers than OEM ones alot of times even though their CPSI rating is FAR below that of OEM ones.
Carsound makes some really nice high flow cats as does Random Technologies.
As for warranty work, unless you were to mess with the cats with the 02 sensors, there is little that Toyota could say per warranty given the Magnuson-Moss Act.
