TSB info needed!!!

Sorry everyone but I'm still a noob, I had a couple of questions about tsb's.

1.) these tsb's, in order to get a tsb serviced do you need to get some kind of letter or ticket in the mail from toyota first? are tsb's callbacks?

2.) I have some of the minor problems discussed in this board; egg smell & steering wheel vibration. If I fall under the tsb date category can I just have a tsb serviced without the before afformentined ticket or do I need something else?
(because I've never recieved anything from toyota except some customer evaluation form & some coupons which were a joke because the even with savings it was still way over priced for oil changes!@#$)

Thank you for any responses.

(P.S. This board is a wealth of information, boards like this is why internet is great!)

a tsb is not the same thing as a recall. it's just a bulletin sent to the service centers rather than the customer. the best way I've found to get it taken care of is to print a copy of the tsb (which you can prolly get off of here if use search for the pdf attachments) and keep it in my pocket or daily planner. When I go into the dealer, I tell them about the problem I have (i.e. sulphur (aka rotten egg) smell and let the look it up and say, oh hey...there's a bulletin about that. then if they happen to say there's nothing they can do, I ask (in a polite way), "wasn't there a complaint bulletin written about that from toyota?" If they still say no, THEN (and only then) do I produce the tsb...I've, personally, never had to show the tsb, but I know those who have. YMMV, tho...
