Tube doors

So I am going to get tube doors. Has anyone done this with a 2nd gen?

A couple choices I would love opinions on.

Only front? Weird. I say you convert all 4 to accept tube when out. I did that. I added quick release hinges to both my solid doors and my tube doors for easy in and out.

Also, you can find web/tube and I like those better. Personal preference I suppose.

Your runner would look odd with just front. If your going tube, go tube.

My thought was to do half doors on the back. I'm getting a couple extra doors this weekend off a junker. My kids ride in the back and I want them to be as protected as possible.

Just do half doors front and back.

It would be cool if they made tube doors with glass that you could roll up when it gets cold/wet.

why not go half doors all around? probably be cheaper in the long run. i know if i had tube doors i would loose a buncha grap while driving around. half doors keep things from falling out. plus... you can put cup holders in your half doors :-D

I agree with the falling out. Ive lost some stuff running no doors..

You can build a half door with a removable upper window part like the jeep half doors have. Eventually I'll build some for my runner when summer comes around.

I am not much of a body work guy. I'll play around with the ideas. I still like the idea of Dave's tube doors up front and homemade half doors in the back. Either option will make me lighter. That makes me happy.

As for the kiddos, I have no plans for doing anything unless they are in seatbelts. If I get the urge to do anything remotely dangerous I will make them get out of the car first.

I'm a fan of the half-door.
They allow you to lean out to check-out obstacles yet offer decent protection.

I guess that means you need a bigger booster seat?

Oh, I thought younger than teen.

In any case, I would even want one of those booster seats for me.......get all strapped in one of those and in a plop over, I probably wouldn't even mess up my hair. The adult versions of course.

On another note. Do you plan on driving on the street with tube doors? Check out your road regulations about having no doors, or tube doors.

Also I've read it in a few places where they have said that without door the structural integrity of the truck is adversely affected.
