Tucson 4Runners!!

How active is the Tucson area? I just picked up a 4Runner Monday and could use some guidance.

Hard to say. We have great wheeling around, but outside of the Tucson Rough Riders which is predominately a Jeep club, there doesn't seem to be much organized off roading that I've seen.
What year did you get?

Snagged a '99. It's in pretty good shape too. Things are just quite a bit different over here than they are on the sport compact side of the house.

I understand. My 06 came with 20" rims and Z rated coopers. Great traction, but I was happy to put some fj rims and fresh rubber on it.

It needs some stuff here and there, single owner who obviously had other interests than off-roading... I'm almost at the point where I can make a good sized WTB thread. The tires are pretty much new so I'll probably either plastidip the current ones or see what my other options are. Like I said, it's a very different world from the sport compact perspective, never needed to worry about body lifts, suspension spaces, wheel offset was pretty much meh. I do want to drop wires for a CB antenna while I've got it apart for audio system repair though.

There's another fairly active group that off-road in the area. Search on Facebook for Sierra Vista Offroad and there's a bunch of guys who go offroading all around the area. Not sure if this link will work. Be warned though they tend to get into rock crawling a lot too.

A older yota truck and 3rd gen on solid axels were more than willing to guide me down(and probably watch me shred mommas ride) but we opted to watch them go down and see how it's done

I think they were more impressed than I was that I was only in 2wd out there! They said I would be on YouTube, I asked what their channel was called they just replied YouTube!!

Also, don't be a turd and leave trash in the outdoors, that bag on the roof is all trash found out there left by monsters!!

Yeah they were salesmen from across the country testing them out so they can better sell them back at their dealerships. Did you notice how many spotters there were? Like 2 per every 6 rover!

It's on a '11 Trail Edition 4runner. Comes with a backup camera already, and there's a dude(briguydiy) making a kit to plug into your existing harness to wire in a switch that will turn on the camera. Then I installed a 4 feed switcher that I got from him in the feed and wired in a cheap amazon camera that fits into the Toyota emblem on the front grill. Might get some side cameras too, cause, well it's just cool. These things have big hoods, so seeing in front of the car is really useful on the trails or in the garage.

Ok so this is a stretch but, blue or grey 4th gen Washington plates and a red t4r.org sticker in the back window. You got onto i10 with me and got off on miracle mile. I was going to flag you when you passed me but you got off the exit before mine.
