Tundra 5100s vs 4Runner 5100s (Sorry, yes another thread)

Yes I mentioned earlier, I think I’m at the weight limit for 891’s. With the bumper + swingout, bikes + rack (85 lbs or so) + about 150 lbs of tools it does sag, even with airbags at 30+ psi

If you’re not planning to carry all that around then maybe you’d be good. I’ll probably go either 861 or LC 8 wrap with my airbags

Yeah I was talking moreso with just the bumper+spare, like hell you'll ever find me camping! (or risk carrying that many tools around, though I wouldn't mind it)

After running the black tokico LC shocks with my 891’s I can unequivocally say that these shocks are worlds better than the Tundra 5100 for my setup. They ride really well, take bumps well, and most importantly keep the back end under control and reduced body roll a ton.

48531-69417 is the p/n, correct? Might have to take a look into these since the LC/4th gen Billies (and most of their other products) are on back order currently and have been for months. Sounds like the very similarly valved, if not progressive, which would be nice

I read in another thread that they are needed, they’re expensive for what they are, but for ease of install I went for it

Well I ironically forewent them for that exact reason; couldn't find any other mention of them. Hopefully I won't need them - McGeorge is being awfully slow recently.

Old thread, but did you end up needing the upper retainers?
Also curious why both you and [MENTION=164146]JohnOfTheJungle[/MENTION] moved away from 891s?

Been on the hunt to find a good shock to pair with my 891s, this thread has been helpful.

891s weren’t tall enough once I got the swing out bumper on. The LC / Lexus LX springs and Tokyo black shocks have been a good combo for me.

Appreciate you! Do you happen to have part # for those springs? Also, how much lift did you end up with? I also have the Kings in front and a swingout in rear.
