Tundra/LC Lift Checklist - Before I Order Everything..

I've decided on doing the Tundra / LC lift, and have been compiling a parts list. I just wanted to be 100% sure I was ordering the right things, before I actually order and spend this large chunk of change.

Shocks: Bilstein 5100's all around (for a Tundra 00-06, front AND rear) ($360)
Toyota Tundra Front Bilstein 5100 Ride Height Adjustable Shocks 99-2006 w/ Optional Rear Shocks

Front Coils: Tundra TRD (00-06) - Hopefully from Craigslist, but if not, these part #'s:
• Driver side - 48131-AF100 Yellow/Yellow
• Passenger side - 48131-AF090 Yellow/Blue

Tundra Coil Isolators ($22 - Wheelers Offroad)
http://wheelersoffroad.com/product/...parts-442922/rubber-front-coil-isolator-pair/

Rear Coils: LC 8-wraps (used)

Top-hat for 96-02 4runner (or reuse my old ones if I can get a spring compressor) (~$26 from Toyota? - Had found the part online at one point but can't seem to find it again)

Misc Parts:
Rear brake line extension: $40
Other Suspension Parts
P/N: SS-20

1" Diff Drop: $30
Other Suspension Parts
P/N: TAC-DR

Do I REALLY need a panhard bar drop bracket / extended bumpstops? If I need the panhard drop bracket, add $50 from ToyTec.

E-Brake "Bracket" - Free - Use an old piece of metal to extend it a bit..

I guess the main things I am concerned about are being able to use the Tundra 5100's front and rear with the setup, as well as any additional bushings / pieces to install the coils (besides reusing/buying a 96-02 4runner front top-hat). Do I need to extend the front brake lines??

I don't want to get this all torn apart in my driveway and end up needing more pieces.. Sorry for the OCD post, but I like to have all of my eggs in a basket before proceeding.

Looks good to me. I know the shocks are right. I just ordered the same for the front. Since you're going with LC in the rear, you could go with the OEM LC shocks in the back and save some cash. If you're patient, you can get the billies on amazon cheaper. I got my set delivered today for $169 and change.

Others who are more qualified with chime in soon I'm sure

The rear Tundra Bilstein shocks should work though, right? I think I'll just order the set for $360.

There's a good chance I'm mistaken here but I think you want the FJ cruiser 5100s in the rear with the LC coils. They're longer. SS which uses LC coils in the rear, recommends the Bilstein 5100 (33-187174) on this page.

Crap. Literally as I hit "Submit" on the Down South Motorsports order page for the set of Tundra fronts/rears.

Oh well, I will stick with the Tundra ones for this kit.. according to
http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/101758-**rickashays-ome-vs-trd-tundra-lc-review**.html

and

http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/154200-speedys-lift-install-how-video.html

they used the Tundra ones. Hopefully it'll be okay

Speedy's video was very helpful - just got done watching it. What about an extension for the sway bar end links?? Thanks.

I was trying to order the extended rear brake line and 1" diff drop from ToyTec, BUT the diff drop is on backorder. Any way I can just make it myself with Grade 8 Bolts from Ace... (for much cheaper than $30, I presume)? Could someone help me out with the lengths / specs of the bolts?

As of now, diff drop, Bilstein 5100's, Tundra coil isolators, and extended rear brake line have all been ordered. Time to find some used Tundra coils...

Do I need the Panhard drop bracket, or should I be alright without it...?

make sure you have the correct bushings for the rear shocks. I had ordered them separately for my 5100s.

I got the pan hardbar drop welded.

You don't need the panhard drop. You don't need those isolators either if you bought new top hats. Also the tundra rear socks are correct. You'll need lower bushings.

Running any Armor up front? If not you may want to go with the first perch. Second for me was really high.

No armor yet. As of now I don't have the Panhard drop. I just ordered a set of .75 energy suspension bushings for the rear shock (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CN9D4E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

I'm about to order the front Tundra shocks for $280 shipped from bochtoyotasouth. Spent all day looking for used ones...no luck.

Well the Tundra Bilstein 5100's are on backorder for "an unknown amount of time" according to DownSouthMotorSports... Amazon has the same shocks, but all priced together it will be around $410 as opposed to $360 from DSM...decisions decisions.

Anyone know people who actually have the Tundra 5100's in stock?? And I know it will be close, but are LC 8-wraps going to be too high for 265/75/16's? (I'm not as worried about rake).

I would look into lowering bump stops. The 8 wraps can over compress the shocks blowing them out once you fully flex it out.

Since you mentioned this and I'm going with a really similar setup in the rear. How much should the stops be lowered? I've got a guy that can fab the bracket just don't know how much to lower them.

+1 for OEM LC shocks for the rear.

And I would recommend all new shocks front and rear, no used.

Only thing going on used is the 8-wraps for the rear.

The thing is, though - the LC shocks are stud / stud, whereas the 4runner rear shocks are eye / stud, and so are the Tundra Bilstein 5100's (which is what I just ordered).

Wouldn't it be a pain to mount the LC shocks on the rear of the 4runner, mainly because of the stud / stud issue with the shocks??

It's either 3 1/4" or 3 3/4". I can't remember. I will go measure. Issue with junkyard stops are they can be so soft that they can over compress. You want to lower the bracket not just use longer runner stops.

So I could just get a 3.25-3.5" piece of square iron, drill a hole in the middle, and screw the bump stop into that? I haven't looked closely at it but it only has one center mount hole right?

its quite easy and documented in a thread by BFAD
