Turbo 4runner mud fun

^ yes i have seen them, and i have a friend who has a SCd taco with the E locker(modded to engage in 2wd), the URD kit ect and a nitrous set up in it, and he has twisted his driveline and broke two ring gears, but yet to damage the locker. and all of that was from trying to launch the truck for 1/4 mile times at the track. those E lockers are a strong unit, sure an ARB would be stronger, but if he can snag a complete for that $$ then heck yes so what if he breaks a few things, the locker wont be one of them unless he trys to engage it while he is spinning out in the mud or doing burnouts ect. as long as he engages it then hammers on it he should be fine. just make sure its engaged first.
 
I suppose preloading prior to rolling on the throttle would be the wiser thing to do regardless of what powers behind it. However, going locked and stomping WOT in anything would weaken or eventually break the toughest equipment.

Knowing your equipment or in some cases the financially results of push the envelope will determine what most of us are willing to risk.

I would throw caution to the wind, that's to concur with a previous video observation. If you go crazy with it the results will be similar to a night after a drunken stooper, was it worth it. As LuDog would comment " ok dad " lol

I'm with you on buying the elocker since it's such a good deal. Having read though your build it appears you're a calculated risker taker, you'll do fine.

Yeah, I need to figure something out. After a day of wheeling this is how dirty the filter got.

a simple splash guard, like and then a pre screen(say like 1/8-1/4" hardwear cloth) that guards the filter it self. the splash guard would keep most of the big stuff off the filter and i could be attached like a "skid plate" say from like the pinch weld spanning to the frame

When you hydrolock it, measure the water in the cylinders. I wonder if the turbo will pack more water in like it does with air.

I take it you said this because of the location of the turbo / intake on your setup? I don't think it looked deep enough in the setup to get water in the stock intake or a K&N type CAI.

The setup looks awesome.
