Turnkey 33s

Doublehaul

Looking to order the toytec ultimate. For those that run this kit and have upgraded to 33s, has anybody found a tire that doesn't rub or requires superficial fender liner mod? Not looking to do a body mount chop. I plan on running LR Uca.

Thx
Pete

The LR UCA should allow for +4.0* caster, which should keep you from rubbing on the body mount - the fender liner needs to be moved forward.

I'd suggest A/T tires if you want something more conservative. Terra Grapplers or BFG AT K/O.

255/80/17 KM2 *should* fit w/o body mount chop. true 33.3" tall and a little narrower then the factory 265.

My next tire purchase will be the KM2s.

pizza cutters look nice, but I'm not sure they would fit w/o body mount. Other concern is that they won't fit in the stock spare storage location. Has anybody done these tires?

I took the 255/80R17 BFGoodrich KM2's on FJ Cruiser steelies off my FJ40 and put them on my 4runner before the lift and they fit with no rubbing at full lock turns. Articulation would more than likely have caused them to rub, but that was all pre-lift. Those KM2's will be my next tire when my A/T's run out of tread.

I think I have some pics of those tires/wheels on the 4runner in My Garage if you wanna see, put they are not so hot cell phone pics.

Like I said they were quick crappy cell phone pics. There are a few others in my members photos section but not of good quality. I did this last winter on a whim and it was too cold to take detailed pics (I hate cold weateher :D )

This was before the lift and before the SpiderTrax spacers I am running now. I think spacers with this wheel tire combo would be needed to make it "look" right. This was also before the fender liner mod, and on paved roads all went well. i did not take it off road.

that actually looks pretty good. def goin w the km2 when my duratracs wear out.

I've ordered a set of 5 17x7.5 black fj steelies...now it's time to decide what meats to wrap them with. It's between 285 duratracs and 255/80r17 bfg km2. Just want the tires to work through the entire range of articulation.

I'm putting on the toytec ultimate lift. Can I vary the lift height with this kit and not compromise anything? If it's possible, I'd like to only lift it as much as needed to accommodate the tires. I think that long term reliability of the ball joints and cv's is more important than a couple extra inches of minimum clearance.
