TXRick Build Thread

For my own notes.
Finished today.

Aussie locker
Rear diff oil
Transfer case oil

Closest to me is superlift in hot springs and barnwell near Longview. I'm sure there's one in between us. Bridgeport?

Congrats on getting the rig locked up, and I'm sending an internet "high-five" your way for doing it yourself. Differentials are intimidating contraptions to work on.

You'll get a big smile on your face the first time you get some use out of it.

I am actually thinking about hitting Barnwell this weekend. Would it be a bad idea to do it with new gears?

The black line is where I traced the speaker. I know that's not how far I cut but if ya could give me a little clarity, that'd be great.

Something about a car speaker but now the post is gone.

Thanks man! I love figuring out new things and this was a big step. It seems to be working great and I can't wait to put it to the test.

Yeah, I was asking about the 6x9s in the rear door but then went back and re-read your thread...saw a picture I missed before...felt foolish, erased post. Going to put mine in next week.

My suggestion would be don't put 6x9 back there, use 5x8.

My 6x9 Kappas have a magnet that blocks the window from going all the way down the last 2".

Yeah, you also said they were awesome:) I can handle the little bit of window staying up. Plus, I've already got 6x9s and am not going to be able to spend any money on it for awhile. I've still got parts laying around and if I don't keep going on this project, it'll just sit....

Replaced IAC valve today and fixed my high idle.
Cleaned up my messy wires.
Mostly installed winch. Still need to put on cable and mount the box better.
Tundra brake upgrade sitting in a box in the garage.
New tires coming after those get put on.

Thinking 285 75 16 KM2. Thoughts?

You can't post this but not add any pictures.
Makes me think you sat on the couch and read what others did on t4r today........ <---- Stab at you.

...holy crap time flies when you're broke...

I have everything to get it back on the road done except this freaking axle nut and the brake problem...I'm getting the fever again and this thing has been sitting for too long:(

So, i don't know what happened with the dang axle nut, I ordered it from 2 different parts stores and they both ended up too small...I just ordered a new cv because I needed another extra anyway...

The steering rack...

I've ordered two from Rock Auto, the first broke in half where the fluid line goes into the top. RA replaced it no problem. The second leaked from the same line. They gave me store credit this time...

Am I doing something wrong? The angle of that line is kinda weird...I ordered this one.

OK, so she has been sitting awhile...same old story. When you got time, you ain't got no money but when you got money, you ain't got no time...
Finally, the two have come together. lol

Where we sit right now.
1. steering rack off
2. knuckle off getting ready to be pressed
3. brake won't bleed properly
4. need new battery

...and that is it!

I'm taking the knuckle to work where they will press the bearing for me and in the meantime I will be working on my rack issue. I have resigned to the fact that i will have to take my runner to the dealership to get the brakes bled...
