TYC Radiator?

I can tell you in a few days. I just ordered one about 10 minutes ago after my original 1999 radiator sprung a leak. Ironically i was test fitting my external trans cooler when i noticed coolant slowly leaking from one of the lower corners.

Ouch! Yes, definitely keep me posted... I'm tempted to get the KOYO one, but with free shipping from Amazon on the TYC, you save about $35. I'll be eager to hear what you think when you receive it.

i think i have a tyc, i ordered it from 1800 radiators or something, it was the same one the dealership offered me as a replacement.

It's actually KOYO

I received my "TYC" radiator from Amazon today, and it's actually a KOYO. The box is labeled 'KOYORAD'. I'll get installed this weekend most likely, and let everyone know how it goes...

Pulled the radiator out of the box and got it installed this morning. The install was easy easy, and the part looks to be of great quality. $105 shipped from Amazon... smokin' deal IMO.

BTW, I know there's been a lot of talk regarding the coolant (red vs. pink). I used the Zerex Asian vehicle formula for the replacement. Heard good things about it, and it was a little cheaper than the Toyota brand.

Thanks for following up on this. I just ordered the same one. I think when it comes I will have all the parts needed to completely replace the cooling system! Well, except for those damn rear heater lines...

I finally got around to installing this radiator, a Koyo, and while the install was procedurally easy, this radiator doesn't fit properly.
It's essentially too wide as the holes in the rad support don't line up with the brackets on the radiator. No accidents and the OEM fit perfectly. Looks like i'll have to modify the rad support this weekend.

Can anyone fill me in on this. Red vs. Pink? I thought it was Red vs. Green

Liny how much would it be to get a radiator from you? I want to go ahead and replace mine for safeties sake.

Previous owner put green in mine but I'm wanting to switch back to red. Should I install new one fill back to proper level with distilled water and drive to dealership for the flush OR get the cooling system flushed and replaced with toyota red then install new radiator.

I realize I may spend a little more money on coolant with the latter but I'd like to keep the new radiator clean unless there is no merit in doing it that way.

I'm still waiting to put my Koyo Rad in, I have it sitting in my house but I have been too broke to get it installed. I want the system flushed and would like a new thermostat as well, I would also like to hear more info on the Toy Red Coolant, is it that much better than the green stuff?

I've heard different things over time that the red is better but I also hear the green is just as good but I never heard anyone say the red is worse and I'm assuming its what originally came in my truck. I just don't want to mix the two...may or may not create sludge. I don't want to take any chances so I'm definitely getting it flushed first.

MAD 69 how much did you pay for your KOYO and where did you get it?

I got it off of Ebay, I think the same guy in California that MaxSpeed got his because I also paid $124 for it. Shipping was either free or about $10, it came in about 5 days so not too bad...

Any knowledge on this topic fellas?

If you're going to install the rad yourself I wouldn't bother going to the dealer for a flush. I doubt they would use distilled water anyway. Just drain and fill a few times with the distilled and then add the antifreeze last.

As far as the red/green goes... It's been mentioned on here before that the red coolant didn't come to the market till..?? 2000? So your 96 and mine definitely did not come with it.

I would say any quality universal or that Zerex Asian would be good.
