Ultra gauntlet and duratrac question

I have been researching and reading old threads till my eyes bleed. Cannot find the same specs so I am starting a thread looking for some help.

Finally about to buy the combo below. I currently do NOT have a lift of any kind. It is totally stock. I am under the impression that this setup will rub. Can anyone tell me if it is just that small piece of plastic or if I need to pull the fender. If I need to pull the fender does anyone know where the DIY is for that?

9" wide -12 is a very aggressive size. I would get ready for a lot of cutting and possible body mount chop.

9" wide wheels push it out somewhat so honestly I don't know how much, if any, you will rub. Good luck and report back.

It's a tire fitment guide, not a wheel fitment guide lol.
The chart uses stock wheel width and offset and assumes 7.5" for 18" wheels. If you add two inches to your wheels, which you are, it's probably going to rub somewhere. Some of it can be fixed with caster adjustment, some of it can be fixed with moving the inner liner, some of it can be fixed by removing mudflap and some of it can be fixed by a body mount chop. Some places it could rub can't be fixed though. Did you talk to the wheel seller about fitting on your vehicle?

I run 285/70/17 Goodyear MTR's on 9" wheels with -12, only rubs in reverse at full lock. No cutting or chopping at all.
@ OP, do the fender liner mod, and get your caster cranked up to 4°, you'll be fine.

Finally got them put on. They rub a little on the fender liner and the mudflap covering the bodymount. LOVE the way they look.

Anybody else with the duratracs have the steering wheel shake around 50mph? Think I may just need to get them balanced again.

Looks good!

Steering wheel shake is most likely due to an out of balance tire, improperly balanced tire, bad tire, bent wheel, improper installation onto vehicle.

Looks good. You have no lift? Nice to know i had 295/65/18 with the same wheels Ultra Gauntlet and my truck was lifted, but now i sold the truck and trying to sell the wheels and tires. Maybe ill sell the tires and keep the wheels.

Did the 4runner recognize the new sensors or did you have the dealer program the new sensors to the vehicle. I am also ordering new wheels and tires for my '14 but I'm not sure if I want to use the OEM sensors or just order new sensors with the wheels. Also, anybody know if the '14s have a sensor for the spare tire?

New sensors will have to be programmed. Most tire shops can do this nowadays, or anyone with techstream. No TPMS for the spare, the TPMS won't accept a 5th sensor ID, it could but has been disabled by Toyota.

They need to be programmed. Evidently the shop I brought them to didn't do it as the light goes on about 20 min after driving. Taking to discount tire to have them balanced and the tpms programmed.

I figured the programming worked that way but I wasn't sure if Toyota was still putting the sensor in the spare like my 4th gen.

How are the Ultra wheels holding up? I was looking into getting some rims but never heard of this brand.
