Uneven wear on passenger side tire

I have a 2.5 inch spacer leveling kit on my 2wd v8. I also have fj springs. I put on the spider trax spacers with my old 255x75x17 and there was no issue. The moment I put on my 285s my truck has a vibration and doesn't ride right. I also noticed that the front passenger tire is wearing on the outside but not the inside. The alignment was redone right after I mounted them. A local shop told me that I'm "skipping tread" and it's a suspension issue.


1. Is this true?
2. Is it easy to fix?
3. Would it be easier to just down size my tires again?

how many miles on it? bad shocks can cause that type of wear.

usually its due to not rotating the tires often enough, but generally affects each side equally.

skipping.

cupping. every other tread is getting worn.

at least that's my guess.

Check out the "cupped wear", I'm assuming that's what they meant by skipping?

Cupping I am familiar with.. That link has pretty good pictures. Just never heard of tread skip (iPad auto correct to slip). I wish techs at these places stuck to one set of lingo instead of trying to recreate the wheel and make it sound like a new thing.
