Upgrading Speakers

I'm going to be buying the Pioneer FH-X700BT head unit and I want to upgrade my speakers and maybe buy a subwoofer. Can anyone recommend a good set of speakers and maybe a subwoofer because the stock sound system sounds really flat. BTW I have a 2005 Sport Edition and I probably want to buy everything from crutchfield

Crutchfield advisors were very helpful to me. I went with polk speakers and I am very pleased with the result

Good luck

A very nice "budget" set of components for the front doors would be the JBL MS-62C. This is what I am running after doing a lot of research including much more expensive sets. I power them with roughly 90-100 watts per channel from an external amp though, so I'm not sure how loud they'd be only powered by the head unit vs. the OEM speakers. I can tell you though that they will be much nicer sounding than the OEM.

The set has a 6.5" woofer, so you will need to purchase or make an adapter ring to go from the OEM oval (6x9) to the round 6.5". Here is the baffle I made when I did my install:
