I just installed the Philips 30mm festoon bulb in the 2nd row/rear dome light. Be careful when/if you install because the Philips bulb is a little longer than the stock bulb but will fit because it just pushes the metal clip back more. Same applies for the rear cargo door bulbs.

Installing the 194 LEDs in map lights

Maybe everyone but me has figured this out, but in my 2010 I removed the overhead console and took it into the shop to exchange the lamps. Simply remove two screws accessible when you open the sunglasses door. With the console on the bench the lamp sockets can be removed from the far side with a simple rotation. No fiddling around trying to grasp the bulb.

Huh, took me about 60 seconds total but I did use the scotch tape method.

I wasn't so lucky, try as I might those suckers wouldn't release. Had to revert to unscrewing console, took about 5 minutes. All that matters is that we are all enjoying better lighting eh! :reddance:

I recently installed Philips Vision and X-tremeVision LED's in my 4runner. The regular 194 Vision bulbs are great for the map and vanity lights and very bright in those positions, but the festoon Vision bulbs were not really brighter than stock. The Phillips X-tremeVision festoon and 194 bulbs are much brighter. If you are planning on going all Philips, I recommend the X-tremeVision bulbs.
