If the heims are set in proper turnbuckle style adjuster sleeves you don't need to remove them to adjust. You just loosen the mechanism (lock nut/clamp) and turn them. Just like a tie rod end. But most alignment shops won't do that. Most of them use a Hunter alignment system that gives the tech step by step instructions of which bolt to turn and how far. Thinking outside of that is beyond the scope of what most of them are trained to do.

I always suggest people look for a shop that does "race" alignments. Go where your local Auto-X drivers go. :lookout:

Yes sir, we have zero stock of any of the last 4 revisions and these ship direct from SPC. The production date is after June which is after the latest update happened.

If your friend chooses heims just make sure whoever does the alignment or install really knows their stuff. Heims offer the most possible adjustabilty but it also requires the technical knowledge of where to set it... and yes the a-arms will have to be removed to get the correct adjustments on the heims, most places wont even touch that in a normal alignment and if they do they will charge you more to do it. I almost purchased the Dirt King Fabrication w/ Heims for my 4Runner but after advice and consideration I choose the bushings. There is nothing wrong with the heims, but typically its for someone that must have that full adjustability or for a vehicle that sees off-road every weekend (like a sandrail, buggy, or a UTV).

I'll be doing the alignment by hand with manual measurements to get it close. Then to a laser rack with a brain dead tech to dial it in with some direction.... The entire reason we are considering heims is to get the adjustment required to run 35s. It should open up possibilities.. if there is enough adjustment to get the camber back to 0 with the lower ball almost maxed forward. .

What I can't find any info on is exactly how much adjustment is available in the different brands that offer it.

They all seem to require removal to do adjustment (which sucks). I think the ICONs have a pinch bolt or something, but heard bad things about them.

I know how the SPCs work. They will not work for our needs.

There is a person on instagram that I follow that looks like they recently put 35s on, I will ask them what upper control arms they are using ...

Depends on the brand. Camburg, Dirt King, ProComp all use the same PN for the Tacoma/FJ/4Runner.

Any idea why some but not all? Geometry is not brand dependent. Seems like it's all or none.

Do you have the SPC's for the gen3 4runner and do the UCA's come with the ball joints & bushings etc? Finally! Would you ship to the UK & if so, what would the total cost be?
