If the heims are set in proper turnbuckle style adjuster sleeves you don't need to remove them to adjust. You just loosen the mechanism (lock nut/clamp) and turn them. Just like a tie rod end. But most alignment shops won't do that. Most of them use a Hunter alignment system that gives the tech step by step instructions of which bolt to turn and how far. Thinking outside of that is beyond the scope of what most of them are trained to do.
