Upper & Lower Link Mount Reinforcement! (ULR & LLS)

Dunno; someone sent me these photos yesterday:

There really isn't room for big joints in the mounts, so they get a lot of additional loading when the joint contacts the mount during articulation. The reinforcements above allow the upper to be cut away to clear properly.

This was Anwar's truck. He wheels his truck pretty hard. But this still proves that those upper mounts can be susceptible to damage.

Thanks man. The best part is I don't rub. Not once on that entire "trail" did I hear a rub. I thought for sure I would given how big those damn Pitbulls are but I think I cut and pounded just enough. lol

Let me know when the upper link mounts are done. That shear line in the photo you posted upthread made me re-think my comment. lol

Lotus is definitely an easier install, but since I know that a lot of you guys wheel hard, something beefier was in order...

I don't know, but I don't see how it could... (I've never run an aftermarket tanks skid, and I'd already relocated my tank when I made these.) - perhaps [MENTION=146407]Plastics guy[/MENTION] or [MENTION=143526]theesotericone[/MENTION] could get a photo of the clearance between tank and LLS when convenient?

That location gets covered with the LLS.

oh yeah - you'd definitely have to cut back the mounting flange on that tank skid - looks like it might clear the bolt, though.

Thank you Eimkeith. Just to clarify, I know my slider mount in the way!

Here is mine, did the driver side. The harder side first. Have to drop the gas tank. But its easy if the bolts are not rusted. And if you have a lift+transmission jack. I got mine powder coated first. It was cheap, lets me know that the backside that is against the factory metal will be 100% painted after welding.

I trimmed a little bit of it to make it fit better, also where my rock slider is mounted i had to trim that little area. Maybe include longer bolts with the purchase of these items for future?
