Is anyone else's upper radiator hose turning white? had my 4runner for a little over a year now and I have noticed this white powdery surface on the upper radiator hose, I think its coming from the coolant reservoir maybe caused by the vapors? I dont seem to be loosing coolant, the level doesnt seem to be changing, but sometimes I do smell it. I think the intake tube is also starting to turn white.

I don't know why but mine is starting to do the same thing. Mine is doing it for about 2 inches starting at the water neck. Hose is still flexible and shows no sign of failing.

There is nothing out of the ordinary about that, its a powder type residue that is on the hose. It will not cause any harm. Hit it with some armor all or some pledge and it wont get like that again for another 10 years or so lol. The hoses come with this white powdery coating on them, you will find somthing similar on the inside of your tires when they are new. NOT TO WORRY.
