URGENT!! 2005 Mini Morimoto Retrofit Question!!

Guys I've got the lights apart and everything. This is my second time around at this as well and I'm hoping this one will be the best time. But I've got a few questions that NEED to be answered ASAP so I can get the car out back together.

1. Does anyone know how much I need to grind down the back of the original headlight housing to make the lights/cutoff straight and so the projectors fits in there the best?

2. Will silicone be okay to use to reseal the lights? I've heard both sides.

Just grind enough to make a flat surface, see wat happens when u unscrew the plastic holder on the 9006 socket, is the enough clearance? Then grind it flat lil by lil, i think there are pics of that work when mike did a quad retro, same concept. Additional silicone is not needed if u sealed it back up properly, i have bake my lights 6 x on factory sealant. If u must add silicone go to retrofitsource or lightwerkz and get the koito sealant.

Thanks guys, that's what I did and I am taking it slowly this time. I had a lot of "cloudyness" on the inside of my lens so hopefully this time it will work.

Also, do either of you know if painting that reflector (i think that is what it is called, inside the projector, black piece) will make a difference? I've seen some write up where people paint it to make it glow, but i'm hesitate about this..

only use high temp paint on the shield, that is what your talking about. u dont have to, but if u want to do some led effects in there u can paint it. when i did it, i just added some leds and left the shield alone, playing with something you are not familure will mess it up. did u get aftermarket lights? u might as well get some aftermarket ones and work on those, on the sealing just get some koito sealant from the retrofitsource or lightwerkz and add more the housing. show some pics of progress please, we all want to see where u at and i am willing to guide u through.

I got the housing all ground down with a Dremel and some air pneumatic tools, needless to say its flawless. I wish I had pictures of it right now, but all I have at the inside housings and the lens.

With all this said, I do have the CCFL rings from TRS on the way. Last thing is, should I make the "demon eyes" or just stick with the halo's only? I've seen it done both ways, but I just don't know with the 4Runners, I need some major opinions.

One more thing, do I need to change the relays to put LED's in the flashers? I'm going to put them in the turn signals and in the parking lights.

U only change the flasher unit for led turn signals, but leds for parking it still stay normal. U can check my led strip mod thread for a demon eye pic, ever since i did the rx afs swap, i dont have those anymore.

Is it a simple relay? I'm asking because i'm going to order the rest of my LED's for the parking, turn and demon eyes all tomorrow and I didn't know if the mechanical shop back home would have it or if I should just order it.

However, I do like the demon eyes, but i'll probably just have a switch inside the cab for it. Unless you think they should come on with my halo's?

Flasher relay is behind the inside fuse box, just unplug and plug in new one. Demon eyes, u will need to make sure they are off when the hids is on, heat will kill the led for the demon eye. Flashee relay order it off ebay , vleds and superbright cost more for the same stuff.

Well this weekend was supposed to be the second retrofit but vleds only shipped me one LED strand so I couldn't do the other side. So it's out off for two more weeks and hopefully there will be no more delays after this!
