Used Prices: 2010 SR5, Limited

Been contemplating getting a 4Runner for some time now. Test drove a Limited last week and liked it a lot, but am not sold on the wheels and tire size.

Here in Arizona, it seems as though Toyota dealers are asking way too much for their used 4Runners. I went into a local dealership last week and the cheapest price I could get for a 2010 SR5 4x4 was $28,500 with 30K miles, not including tax, title, and documentation. Seems like I should be able to get it out the door for that price with fees included, but the dealer wouldn't budge.

Anyway, what should I pay for a used SR5 4x4 vs Limited 4x4?

As for resale, they hold their value, so I would expect to pay a bit more.

Here in Tennessee and surrounding areas (Atlanta mainly) a 2010 SR5 (Certified) with 48k on the clock, will cost you 31,500--asking price. I shopped around and decided new since Toyota's resale is so firm.

I'm in Ahwatukeee. Pretty far south of Avondale. I may have to check them out if I can't get a deal worked with another dealership I'm visiting tomorrow.

As for resale, I agree that 4Runner's do hold their value, but edmunds/kbb say that SR5's with 30K miles should be around 26K or so. Invoice for a SR5 with a few options is around $33K....so I think it's a little crazy to pay $31K for a 2 year old 4runner.

yeah it was a tough decision I came to terms with while shopping 4th gens. Sucks to find/buy, but good if you want to sell. lol

They are worth the drive. I will PM you the sales guys number that I always work with (purchased my last four vehicles from him, and I know the owner personally). They are a no nonsense dealership, no hassling or haggling, no games from them.

As for that KBB, I just ran the trade in value on my truck and it was over $30k on KBB, private party was over $34k. I built it new on Toyota's site and came in around $39k. Mine is fully loaded with every option available, but I also ran only the preselected options on KBB and came up with a private party of $29k and trade in of $27k.

If you can find a used Limited for a good price get it. I test drove two SR5's before deciding on the Limited. It was worth the additional $$$ for the extras and better ride/handling. I put some 275/55/20's on the stock rims, Continental CrossContact LX20's (these tires are recommended to fit a 7" wheel). Love my truck.
