Utility Trailer

Anyone have any ideas on a good, covered utility trailer? I'm looking for for something to haul our camping and moutaing bike gear in and to use to haul lumber, etc. Something covered like these:

depending on what forum i'm on you would get... 'just build your own.'

i do have a small 40"x48" harbor freight trailer that i might 'build' but i'll be basic.

plus i need to be able to man-hangle it into the back yard to keep it outta the way.

having said that, i would consider what you posted.

Government surplus already gives you your lift and if you shop around you can find them with hard enclosures as well or generators.

From there build to suit your need.

There are a lot of people building teardrop campers on harbor freight trailers. They put thousands of miles on them and drive cross country with few issues. The key to any traler is proper greasing of the bearings, proper torquing lug nuts and proper air pressure in the tires. I'm not sure about a bolt together frame and have heard that the bolts that come with the HF trailers can be junk. I would either replace the nuts and bolts with grade 8 and nyloc nuts or weld the frame.

They are small and light.

Also the HF bearings are usually shipped dry and must be greased before use.
