V-LEDs now quick flash

I wont lie. I didn't search extensively. I'm in my garage completing this mod so need answers fast.

I did search a bit and I do know that fast flashes are due to a bulb being our or too much power.

I just added V-LEDs in my DRL in my 06 headlight (did the 06+ facelift) and everything turns on and looks great except it flashes fast.

How do you fix this? Is there something else I have to install to fix this? I know Autobond put white ones in his 06 headlights but I was pretty sure it was a straight swap.

theres a flasher unit behind the inside fuse box, when i coverted my signals to leds, i went ahead and change the unit for led flasher, it flashes normally for me now. that part is less than 20 dollars. i suggest getting it from ebay, its much cheaper than vleds

It's weird because when using the turn signal its fast but if i put on my hazards its normal. REALLY weird

changing the flasher unit to the led flasher unit is more safer, the resistor will need to be cooled down, they get hot enough to melt the plastic panels if installed inside.

Yeah it was the same way for me on my corolla and my 4runner. I suppose the extra load of having all 4 on at the same time is enough for it not to read wrong (I'm no electrical engineer). They just clip into the turn signal wire pretty much. Took like 4 minutes start to finish.

As far as the flasher relay change thing, I read up on that and it was too complicated for me. Some people said you need this one or that one, and others said none work for certain cars, so I just went with the resistor, which does get really hot, but it says not to mount it on anything plastic right in the directions. And those particular ones that I got are encased in an aluminum heatsink kind of deal, so it takes care of itself. Just don't mount it on plastic and I think you're fine. But if you got one that works off of eBay, I'd probably do that if I were to do it again, just because it's probably a little cleaner.

the flasher unit for led is a direct swap, it looks just like the stock flasher for halogen bulbs, its easy on the 4th gen, its right behind the inside fuse box, all u need to do is take the cover off and three bolts will loose the fuse box, and then ull see it.
