48.5" as it sits in the truck...
i just measured mine(i have two) and i measured it with the slip yoke at the wear spot -basically how it sits static 90% of the time.
it will move in and out some, if you need those measurements let me know as i can get you those as well
just for clarification, i did flange to flange... not u-joint to u-joint
I know most of you guys have the 3.4 Automatic 4x4 Combo, so I just need someone to grab a quick measurement for me if possible.
What I need is a measurement of the stock rear driveline length, u joint to u joint.

Thats going to be longer than stock with the 4" of lift you have.
Which U joint in the double cardan? I still have my OE shaft I can measure but your better measurement is going to be as kid did, from flange to flange.
If you could grab the Transfer case side to double cardan, flange to U-joint, possibly extended and not that would be awesome.
Trying to find out if i can grab the rear shaft out of an Auto 4x4 to run for a bit until I get my driveshafts made once I get the 4x4 conversion done.
The double cardan is at the transfer case.
I do not think what you would like to do is going to work. The 4x4 shaft is shorter than the 4x2 shaft due to the addition of the transfer case in the 4x4 models. Unless you already have the transfer case installed. There is not enough length in the slip to make up for the difference.
But Ill get you measurements today. Unless someone beats me to it.
Fully collapsed the OE shaft is about 44 inches. Extended to the wear mark on the slip joint is about 45 inches. Im hesitant to give you a fully extended measurement because you need as much spline engagement in the slip joint as is possible.
Thats from an 01, 4x4, auto.
Multi mode transfer cases will be a different measurement, if you have a multi mode case then use the 45" measurement, but if you have the standard J shift case then you will be looking at the 48" shafts...
