I just picked up a 2003 for a steal...it's no virgin...way to many hands have been all up in it over the years most of which had no idea what they were doing...evidently. Had a broken timing chain due to a botched head gasket job...that's all sorted out.
The belt routing threw me for a bit of a curve...I have only 2 idlers and one tensioner. I can see where the idler between the A/C compressor and crank pulley is supposed to be, but it's not there....just a straight shot between the compressor and crank.
Is anyone else's like this? I left the dealer in '03 or so and don't think I ever touched a belt on this engine. I'm wondering if something was different perhaps on the 03 models than the service information shows, since '03 was the first year for this engine...or someone just lost it while doing some work and decided to get a shorter belt and run without it?
