v6 guys what miles per tank do you normally see?

My mileage is about the same as all the rest about 20 mpg on the freeway. But like Nunyabiz said its all about the hills or flat. I took my truck into Colorado and Wyoming couple months ago. Trip ended up being 2100 miles and I spent about $550-$575 in fuel, at least I think I did there was a gentlemen's club stop in Denver. But I spent most of the trip in the mountains and a small trail run too.

Congratulations you get the a****** of the Year award!

I was simply asking a question to get a general idea of what people typically see simple as that.

I have never drove my runner more than 30 miles out of town so this is why i asked the question since you need to know the base reason for the question so with the drop in fuel prices i figured it is time.

The answers here now give me a base to compare my data to when i do take the trip so is there anything elese you need to know about my reasoning for the in your (i am better than everybody because I know it all) mind set?

It isn't the first time nor the last time I will be called your blanked out word. What kind of mental midget can't calculate his mpg and divide it into the total distance.

Let me really screw with you then. I get 52 miles per tank at 55 mph on the highway. Put that into your calc.

And yes, I am serious. Too many mental migets on the internet. I cant tell if OPs one of those or just F'in lazy.

Holy crap! The price of gas just dropped to $1.80/ gallon. Everyone who initially posted here, you need to repost your figures so OP can have accurate numbers. God knows he can't figure it out for himself.

...did you miss the part where he said he hasn't driven his rig more than 30 miles out of town? He obviously doesn't have a highway baseline to compare against.

I've gotten as high as 21 and as low as 14.5 mpg between city and highway driving.

This. Seeing that you will be doing mostly highway if not all, you're gonna get some great mileage. Well, great for a V6 SUV anyway.

I haven't gone on a long trip with my 4Runner just yet, but in my 3.0L V6 I'd get around 14 MPG city and once I got 22.5 MPG all highway in the summer running 91 octane on a long trip. Highway driving makes a big difference.

For the record, I get roughly 17.5 MPG with about 75% highway and 25% city. Hope to change that with the tune-up I'm working on right now to get it running at top-notch again.

Yes I did. It makes no difference to me. So explain to me how YOUR mpg will help him? All our trucks run between 12 mpg and 22 mpg. How the hell do you know what his truck does? I mean what the fuk? Cant he set his odometer to zero and drive until the tank is empty? Seriously! Like there are 100's of threads on mpg already. Now this guy lazily starts a thread asking absolute strangers how far his ****ing truck will roll. How the hell should any of us know.

Give me the ****ing keys and in a week, I will tell you. Otherwise, only he can determine the answer.

Fine. Here's the answer. Anywhere from $300 to $163. YMMD

Dufus.

I get about 18 mpg and fill up anywhere between 250-270 miles just because my fuel gauge doesn't work. I do about 85% highway driving but catch traffic quite a bit or else I would probably get around 20 mpg or so.

Why does this "Drcoffee" have his panties in a wad if this thread has nothing to do with him. If you offer no help or knowledge to give then why don't you read, ignore and go about your business. Why do people feel the need to unnecessarily act like a prick?

Here are some stats for you...

FWIW.... here are some numbers for you to look at and ponder, along with narrative for context.

:pop2:

My rig is a 2000 SR5 with Sport trim (driving lights, Limited style fender flares, etc). It is a 4WD, 3.4L Automatic.

The drive is relatively flat here, and no AC being used this time of year in Phoenix. The gas here in AZ is an ethanol blend if memory serves me correctly. I also have a 3" lift, no aftermarket roof rack, and until last week (12/27) was running stock size tires (265/70/16).

I drive approximately 80% highway miles and 20% city/surface streets in the time period shown below. Of the 80% highway, about half is early morning, no traffic @ about 75 MPH (40% of overall) and the other half is stop and go commute @ ~ 40 MPH (40% of overall).

My commute is about 35 miles each way. I am driving more than one vehicle, and spread the commute around, so don't worry that the mileage does not add up to 350 per week or more.

Hope this helps someone in one way or another...
