First of all, I was not insulting or trying to insult anyone.
It was just a friendly debate.
Second of all, I don't recall you issueing the first warning. And, what repercussions are you warning me about anyway?
Just curious.
I did not know that this forum is sensored.

myrunner said:...People that argue in favor of V6 only do so, as a result of their bad purchasing decision...
...Being cheap and then trying to justify it is one way of retaliation...
...So please, stay quiet in your under powered runner until your lease or finance term is up and go get a decent truck with a decent engine....

Here we are comparing BIG and BIGGER engines while the rest of the world is in (well) a different world. Their biggest engine is our old 3rd generation 3.4 V6. I am surprised the 3.0 liter is a 4-cyl. If that is true, it must be a monster 4 cyl. Also, I assume the 3.0 is a diesel....maybe???Wai said:There are 3 engines available in Japan.
1) 2.7L, 4-cyl, 150ps, 235Nm
2) 3.4L, V6, 185ps, 294Nm
3) 3.0L, 4-cyl Turbo, 170ps, 352Nm
The 3.0L Turbo is actually the "top of the line" engine. Even though it has less horsepower than the 3.4L V6, it has 20% more torque and the torque curve peaks and is perfectly FLAT from 1400rpm to 3400rpm.
The engines here in the US are unique for our market to compete with other SUV with big engines.

starflt said:I've been monitoring this thread and others regarding the subject of sludge. Reason is I just scheduled a 15,000 mile maintenance with my dealer on my '03 Runner SR5 V8, and he strongly recommended an engine flush. When I pressed him as to why, in that I've never needed a flush in any vehicle I've ever owned (I change my oil at 3,000 mile intervals religiously. Don't care what the manual says), he asked me if I've ever owned Toyotas before, that engine sludge is a "common condition". Is there any truth to this, or is this just a scare tactic designed to boost their profits?
