V8 Coolant level question

Have a problem...I just had the 06 in for its 67K service at the dealer. They flushed and replaced the coolant. The next day I drove 700 miles and tomorrow I am driving 700 miles with a 6K trailer.

I went to check the fluids and the coolant, when cold, is about 4inches down from the cap. I stuck a coolant/antifreeze siphon in and had to stick the thing as far down as I could to pick up and coolant.

Would you be worried? There is a dealer 40 miles away where I could buy some coolant to top it off.

Anyone know if I could have done any damage to the engine so far, the temp gauge has been normal?

Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,
Pissed with dealer....total service was $750.00

When the coolant is replaced the level will go down after the engine warms up and the thermostat opens a few times. It is normal to have to add fluid after this. The dealer mechanics are in to much of a hurry to recheck things to get onto the next job. i would just top it off and recheck it after running it a while. This is why I do all my own work. Only use distilled water to top it off, no tap water to keep impurities out.
