V8 difference in HP???

I was doing some reading on here and thought of something that I cannot find an answer to. I have a 2004 SR5 V8 AWD that is supposed to have 235HP. I was reading that the 2005 V8 has 270HP. What did Toyota do different? Is it something I can do or add to my 4Runner to get that extra HP? Is it a different program in the ECU? Just curious and started thinking which usually gets me in trouble and costs me money. LOL. Thank you in advance!

no, its nothing you can add. The V8 got a nice power boost by receiving VVTi in 05. Power of the V8 went up to 270HP and 330lb/ft. It does add a little extra power on the road, especially on the top end of the RPM range. http://www.toyota120.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13739&highlight=vvt-i on a side note & trying not to nitpick too much, but theres a reason toyota calls the system full time 4wd not AWD. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/off-roading-home-monst4rs/7583-awd-vs-full-time-4wd.html http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/667-4wd-system-versus-awd-system.html
