Is it really that simple though? I like the concept, I believe I’ve seen another thread about it but it was a v6 twin stick manual swap from the FJ with a body lift. To be clear, are you saying the FJ carrier doesn’t use ADD? If I recall correctly the FJ 6spd also has the manual t-case so that would eliminate the actuator and 4wd conflict. However, that doesn’t really address the big question at hand, are the v6 & the v8 t-case actually the same in the T4R? Cause the Tundra & the Sequoia technically share the same drivetrain but obviously a different frame with more space for the ADD.
For me, the 1” body lift is still on the table. I’m running 315x75x17 with a bit of rub when stuffed so 1” will help my BFGs quite a bit. As for my thoughts on the motor mounts, that’s just to center the fan in the shroud and relieve stress on the wiring harness and lines. I figured it would yield some spare real estate for ADD too. Not quite sure how much room is actually needed though. It’s all hypothetical until I get my lazy ass out there and start plugging $hit in though.
I really do want to figure this out and definitely appreciate all of the criticisms as well as feedback from everyone here. I want to shift my priorities around and re-gearing to 4:56 needs to happen soon. That’s why I’m optimistic about a more plug-n-play option. So if a new actuator, new switch and ADD carrier put me in 2wd I’ll put the body lift on and figure out the motor mounts myself.
