I know you were probably kidding, but once I get there, I will check that out and see what the guest lot rules are...the complex is right across the highway from the Lionshead public garage, and its on the free bus line. So, I am sure they might have rules on that...I have a 26 hour car ride to figure it out LOL!
 
Oops, sorry, I did not realize the Epic pass was no longer available. Looks like you may be stuck with window rates. You're best bet is to meet some people that can share some of their 'buddy' passes. I too moved in January (2005) and paid way more than the cost of a season pass when all was said and done. But it was worth it. Breck, Keystone, and Steaboat will all still be $100. A-basin would be your best bet for window rates, and there is also Ski Cooper.
 
For Summit County, I'd advise you to consider the former Gart Sports, now Sports Authority, on HWY 6 off the Silverthorne exit..... 306 Dillon Ridge Road, Dillon, CO 80498 between City Market (grocery store) and Bed Bath and Beyond.

They may be a little more expensive, but they will still be around for any servicing needs. Some things are worth paying for. They have a massive selection for both winter and summer needs. Sales and service. Not any used stuff as far as I know, but it's cheap.

P.S. Go to snow.com and get a pass in October or mid November at the latest for whatever suits you.

I would be exceedingly cautious buying/transferring or using someone else's pass. When they scan the pass as you go through the lift line the scanner pulls up the information of the person attached to the pass (i.e. name, age, gender, etc) as well as a picture. The lifties are actively looking for people who are mis-using passes (they receive bonuses for finding them) and if caught VR will prosecute both you and the person that provided the pass rather than just confiscating it . . . harsh but the reality of it.

The walkup ticket prices are outrageous but the consequences of sharing passes can be worse.

Your best bet will depend on how many days you think you will ski at a Vail Resorts property but I would see how many free/buddy tickets come with your wife's pass. In addition, anyone else who has friends with epic passes have the ability to buy a limited number of discounted buddy tickets.
 
One last thought, not sure if you are going to be working while you are out here or not but many part time jobs provide merchant passes. May be worth looking in to a part time job for the benefit.

Btw, which department is your wife going to be working in?
 
I highly doubt I'll be using all of my 6 buddy passes so let me know if you want a couple and we can try to figure out how to get them to you.

Yea, this. Someone that works at the Ritz told me they get $100 for every pass they snatch.

Where in Edwards are you? I just moved to Arrowhead.

Thanks everybody for the tips. I got an Epic pass today at November price level by simply emailing Vail with my predicament. I cannot believe that they honored it!!! So pumped! Does that happen or am I super lucky?

She will be working in PACU in the surgical center in Vail and in Edwards. She will float to whichever place they need her. I will be working from home and won't have time to pick up a temp job...

To the OP, I used to work with the local ambulance service here and have more than a few friends who work at the hospital. More often than not it is a great group of people and you guys should enjoy your time here. Great thinking to reach out directly to Vail on your predicament and an epic pass. For all of the other issues they have they can get things right every now and then. :)

Big storm coming in this weekend (well according to the forecasters anyway, I'll believe it when it's on the ground) - get out here safely and enjoy the skiing with the rest of us.

Cool. Might try to ski Sunday, but i guess i will miss the plowder. Maybe. We gotta get up there and settled in Sat afternoon first. Dying to try out the Duratracs in the snow too.

We have one friend who has a place in Vail, but they dont live there any more, so it would be great to try to see if some of your friends could show us around, or whatever...

Do you know any musicians up there?
