Valve Cover Gaskets

I have some oil “pooling” by the valve cover above the alternator and I’m assuming it’s time to replace the valve cover gaskets (I tightened up the bolts and they were nice and tight). I would like to replace the gaskets myself but unfortunately I’m out of town for work and don’t have my shop tools with me. What’s a ball park figure for a shop to do this (parts and labor)? Thanks for the advice!

The torque on those is very low, they have to be tightened in sequence too or you run the risk of not making a good seal.

I just tightened mine down. You'll need an inch-pounds torque wrench. All you do is tighten down the valve cover bolts. If i remember correctly is like 53 inch pounds. Super easy fix! If you don't have the torque wrench, I'm not sure how much the shop will charge.

You may want to look at the gasket under the filler cap. Do you change the oil yourself?
