Alright so I am ready to actually start doing some work on my truck. How does this diagram look for my OBA setup? This is just for the plumbing, I am not worried about the wiring.

I was to lazy to put in labels, but basically, the air compressor splits to the ARB manifold(<a href="http://www.quadratec.com/products/16104_9006.htm">Found here</a>). and the ARB 1Ga. Tank (<a href="http://www.trdparts4u.com/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=-9082">Found here</a>). The two pieces of hardware on the manifold are a blow off valve and the ARB solenoid. This then goes to my air locker. The tank also has a blow off valve, and goes to two quick connects (one front, one rear)

You can drop the "Y" connector. The ARB manifold has 4 ports which would give you a goes-into and goes-outa plus solenoid for the locker and HP blow-off valve.

Also, are now considering the ARB Twin Compressor? If so, you really won't need a tank for the lockers and to air tires.

I too considered a line to the rear but the ARB hose is long enough so I'm not doing it now.

I am going to get the ARB Twin now, I am still going to get the manifold, but will a tank really not be necessary for general air compressor use? That would certainly save me some money.

Also how would I add the two quick connects without the tank?

Do you need two quick connects? The tire fill kit is supposed to be long enough to reach all four tires.

I'm planning on compressor to manifold and on the manifold I'll hook the locker solenoid and tire fill kit via quick connect and that's all. The manifold is supposed to be rated above the capabilities of the compressor so I'm going to run without an hp blow-off valve.

I want to put one in the back cargo area, and one in the engine compartment, unless it would be too difficult I don't see a problem doing it that way.

Where's your ARB manifold located if you have one and what pressure is going to your locker?
Air pressure to the lockers is supposed to be a regulated 90psi according to ARB but Chase at ECGS said they always run 100psi.
I just bought another manifold and inline regulator just for the locker solenoids and regulator .
 
Unless you want or need to be able to use the front and rear connects at the same time you could have a short piece of flex that lets you either plug in the front or rear to the manifold or you could daisy chain by plugging the rear into the front (assuming you mount the compressor in the engine bay.

You have 4 ports on the manifold, if you need five you have to use a "Y" or "T"

Looking at my pics in post 12 the manifold is the silver tubish thing to the right of the compressor. My set up as is does not have a gauge so can't say what pressure is going to the lockers. ARB says 620kPa [90 PSI] to engage the locker and 586 kPa [85 PSI] min / 724 kPa [105 PSI] max.

The ARB Twin compressor = "Pressure switch controlled air manifold system regulates pressure between 9.3Bar [135PSI] and 10.3Bar [150PSI] suited to air tools and all ARB Air Locker equipped vehicles"

I still really do not see a need for two quick connects or a tank.

BTW, my front lockers came in today!!!!

I am a big fan of clean/quick installs and operation. So I'd much rather pop an air line onto a quick connect and flip a switch than having to open my hood. Just me though. If it turns out to be a big deal I can live without the quick connects.

The solenoids are 1/8" BSPT (british standard pipe thread)and they are not interchangeable with NPT threads. Not sure what the ARB compressor is but everything on my set-up is NPT threads ,except the solenoids.:bash: It' going to look like a octopus under there!
I have 2 quick connects on my setup ,one under the hood and one off my frame on the pass. side midway back ,protected by my SW sliders.

Oh , I see it now, You have the (171503)manifold kit.

ECGS said they found that higher pressures can blow out the seals and leak oil back into the air line.Here's a blog from ARB I just found that contradicts that so apparently there is not a max pressure. Air Locker Pressures | ARB USA Blog
 
^ there certainly is not right or wrong configuration as it all depends on your requirements. Since I'm using it for lockers and tires 99% of the time Im happy with my set up. Not to say that I have not considered and may one day add a line to the cargo area right now it's not high on my list

I look forward to see what you finally end up doing.

I forgot about these pics. Ok so I see...
1. Bottom front connection going to the compressor
2. Top front is a quick connect
3. Top side is the solenoid mount and the line going to the air locker
4. I am guessing their is a blow-off valve hidden in there somewhere (behind?)


Two questions for you,
Did the solenoid come with the manifold kit or with the air locker? My guess is the air locker...I am going to have to grab one of those then.

Is the quick connect built into the manifold? Or is it just an exit valve that you added a quick connect to?

As far as pressure goes, I have read a lot about this issue as well, I was under the impression that the ARB parts come with pressure regulators to make sure your ARB lockers are getting the right amount of pressure when they need it. Is this wrong? Do I need to add something else to my setup?

Thanks for helping me through this guys. Im hoping to have the whole OBA setup installed within 2 or 3 weeks. Then off to Ducmonsta for the rear locker to go in!
