Vibration after coming out of 4wd?

My 14 TE has developed a vibration between 35-55 mph. It started about a week ago after shifting the truck back into 2wd. Everything sounds good when it's in 4wd, but in 2wd, the vibration occurred.

It's going to the dealer tomorrow (warranty), but if I can guide them a little, that would be great. When searching, it looks like there was a TSB for the 10's where the front diff and axles were being replaced, but I don't know if it's really the same situation/vibration/noise. Any suggestions?

Is it the transfer case shift lever? Mine starting making a vbirtation noise/rattle after a recent snow trip where I was in and out of 4WD a number of times.

You can feel it through the gas pedal. I know the shift lever had always vibrated, but this is actually through the driveline. My thought was the front is t disengaging completely, but there appears to be no binding when turning.

That would be my first guess. Just a small clump of mud or snow inside the wheels can cause a mean vibration at highway speeds. I doubt it's 4wd system related since you likely don't used 4wd at the speeds you mentioned on smooth surfaces.

Wheels appear to,be completely free of debris. I engaged 4wd drive this afternoon. Drove completely straight for about 1/4 miles at 25 mph, then shifted back into 2wd. Noise / vibration still there between 35-55 mph.

We'll see what the dealer says.

Yes, it's been driven in both 2 and 4 wheel drive at equal speeds. No vibe in 4, only 2. We'll see what they find out today.

Sorry for the long delay, as I had some things come up and haven't been on here for a while.

Dealer could not duplicate the vibration. As the weather has warmed up a little, the vibration has improved. It's still there, but it's slight. So, for now, I'm going to let it ride.

Mine is in for a similar vibration today, needle bearing in the front diff. I will follow up with results.

Needle bearing was replaced on Friday and the vibration I was feeling in the footrest is now gone.
