Vibration after lift

I just spent last weekend putting a lift on the 4runner. I did the back axle on Saturday and the front on Sunday. I drove it Saturday night to pick up my daughter and had no issues. Sunday while driving home from my friends house I noticed a vibration. As soon as I hit about 50 mph or higher I get a vibration in the front end and it stays until I drop back down below 50.

I had the thing realigned today by a shop that specializes in lifted trucks. Any thoughts? Maybe bad cv axle which is more pronounced now that the angle is greater with the 3" of lift?

Now, I had the same issue with mine. It's either two things: the diff drop is altering your front suspension geometry too much OR the rest of your driveline is out of wack due to too much lift in the front. What ultimately helped me was lowering my front lift to about 2-2.5 inches of lift. All my vibration went away. Another option you could try (I never did, stupid I know) but is to take out your diff drop and go for a drive OR get slightly longer rear upper control arms. But like I said the quickest fix is slightly lowering the front of your car.

I removed the diff drop and it didn't go away. Now I'm seeing fluid from around where the cv axle goes into the front diff. I'm wondering if I moved that too much while replacing lower ball joint and lifting the front end.

Maybe the axle got pulled out when you dropped the LBJ and isn't seated completely. That would probably make it leak, and probably vibrate too.

Not the axles. I'm thinking a bad u-joint.

Turns out it was a bad solenoid in the trans. The shift solenoid valve SL. So apparently the torque converter won't lock up after 50mph if this goes bad.

When ever you do any work in suspension, make sure to loose all the suspension bolts while the truck is on the ground on wheels. Bump the truck few times and then re-tight all the suspension nuts/bolts. Then get an alignment. This will relieve any strains in the suspension bushings due to the new lift.
