I am selling my brand new Viper 5101 Remote start with keyless entry. It has never been installed but the box has been opened. I was originally planning on installing this on my 1999 4runner but realized i dont have the time. It comes with everything needed to install and two remotes. Do our 3rd gens need a bypass module to install this? Or are you including it?

I am not including the bypass module. I did not have to get one for mine since its an sr5 and If I'm right yours is too? I'm pretty positive all the limiteds had a chipped key but mine could start with a plain metal one.

A kinda ghetto way for you 3rd Gen guys with a chipped key to not have to buy a bypass module would be to somehow secure chipped a key under the ignition somewhere.

Yeah A Wilson that would work. If you really wanted you could even cut the key part off and just find a place to stick the plastic end with the chip in it.

I talked with a guy in "geek squad" at best buy a few months back about this and he said that they now have a way to bypass this so that you don't have to sacrifice a key to leave in the truck for it to remote start.
I may be interested in it, I need to look it up to remember which model this is.

I know they have a bypass module for it but that costs extra money. I'm not sure how much though. You have probably looked it up by now but it is a one way with lock unlock and remote start button and two remotes. Feel free to make me an offer

It would work on any vehicle. You just might have to get a bypass or hide a key somewhere for your 4th gen.
