Volume / Track button on Steering Wheel not Self Centering after use.

Does anyone else have a volume / track button that does not self center itself once the button is used?

My wife asked me to check out the volume and track controls on the steering wheel. The buttons do not seem to center themselves to a position to receive the next input from the driver. If my wife Deceases the volume the button stays on the Minus side and if she Increases the volume the button stays on the Positive side. The button will not accept another increase or decrease input from the driver until pressed the opposite direction from which it was last pressed.

I checked it out and sure enough it doesn't appear to self center after use. I moved the button back and forth using two fingers a few times and it seemed to work better for a short time. However after a few minutes it seems to reset back on the side last used.

Do you guys have any ideas on this one?

So you mean it's sticky and wants to stay depressed in the last position it was pushed in? I would say try to clean it, but I don't know how you would get back there.

Almost like there is no spring to push the button back into position.

try using a can of that compressed air(duster?)..maybe you have some sand or dirt gumming it up? Ive used it to get sand/dirt out of my temp controls knobs which was creating friction when turning/adjusting the temp.
