my wife was curious / afraid of going up a steep parking garage if there's traffic in front, she had to stop in the middle of the slope. when traffic is cleared, once she let go the brake before hitting the gas, the vehicle will roll back for a good distance. so we went to the same parking garage tonight and she brought up the same question, so i brief about the hill start function in the 4th gen. i stopped in the middle of the slope, let go the brake and let the car roll back. as soon as it rolled for 1/2 sec, the VSC light came on (i think that is VSC light) and started flashing, then it had the "clicking" noise and i can tell the car itself was trying to roll back to the front. well, it ended up the VSC kept flashing and beeping, but the 4R stopped rolling but it feel weird. it seemed like it tried very hard to stop the rolling.
now is that what it should do in this type of situation? i know most people tried the DAC and the clicking noise is normal and means the system is working, but would that happen in the case of HAC?
as soon as i put a little gas and everything turned back to normal. anyone try this before?
