Walker QuietFlowSS yes..Bosal NO!
Just wanted to throw this out there...I know there are all these high performance mufflers out there, but for those that just want a OEM replacement the Walker QuietFlowSS will not disappoint.

I originally had the Bosal muffler that you can buy at the various auto parts store, but it had a harmonic right around 1500rpm. It was also generally louder than the factory muffler. After about 6 months after installing it, it started breaking apart inside and making this loud rattle around 1700-2100rpm..very unnerving!

The Walker muffler was way better. It fit just fine and it was just as quiet as the oem.

Here are the part numbers for the 01-02:
Muffler
54681
Front gasket
31384
Rear gasket
31384

Glad to hear it worked out! I have a quietflow SS too and love it. Sounds just a tad smoother and deeper than stock but still has the same tone. I love it and it's holding up well so far. It's been on the truck 2+ years and has no rust although I live in Tn so rust isn't a huge concern here.

Any long term reports on this muffler? Mine has a big rusted hole in it and I am currently looking at options for an OEM replacement muffler and tailpipe. This is on the list.

I think this is the one I got cheap off Amazon, it seems good.

Yeah reviews seem very positive. I will probably go with this. (I have California Emissions)

Summit and Amazon have similar prices around $217 with free shipping.

Rockauto has a kit for $240 that includes all gaskets, rubbers, pipe, and muffler but shipping is $44 and killed the deal.

I will probably go with Summit since they are in the neighboring state of Ohio and usually deliver next day.

Summit is great, I've ordered a ton of performance parts for my 4Runner from them and the prices & shipping times are good.

Walker QuietFlowSS Is the closes to oem. But I've read reviews the flanges are not s.s and rust and start leaking after a year or two in the salty states. I had the muffler shop cut and weld the new Walker one on for me because I didn't even want to bother with the rusty bolts on the catalytic converter flange and o2 sensor. Cost me $60 bucks for the shop to cut and weld. Totally worth it.
