I was debating about replacing the chrome front grill and rear panel with the the black ones from a trail. Yesterday I came out to my truck after dinner and found a trail parked next to me. It was kinda interesting to see them parked side by side and see all the little difference.
One thing that caught my eye was that the rear hatch panel had a lock cylinder where as mine has the up and down buttons. It never even crossed my mind before that it was a smart key feature. It's one of my favorite features, we come back to the truck after mountain biking or skiing or whatever and you don't have to dig the key out, just walk up, press the button and the rear window rolls down so can toss gear into the cargo area.
So long story short, is there a year the 5th Gen Trail model had an option for smart key? I'd like to find a factory black one (not painted or plasti-dipped) with the lock/unlock/window buttons instead of the lock cylinder.
