I'll admit, I was going to buy one, until I found out it isn't actually waterproof. It's just water-resistent. Screw that haha

Yeah, i think that you're OK using it at work and in the pool. Unlike Samsung, Apple usually underrates their specs.

It's not bias, it's the opinion of someone who has worked in tech for 20 years and used a lot of Apple hardware. I owned the first four iPhone models that came out, then I tried a Nexus phone and never looked back. I've had Powerbooks and now MBPs (I'm typing this on an MBP) and I just feel that the company has stopped innovating. I'd go into more detail, but it's time for me to leave the office and go fishing :D

Still waiting for your reasons why Apple Watch is crap....

Its not crap. It's also not a watch. Just another digital display with a tech look and some cool features and apps for those who can't get enough of that kind of nonsense.

Fair assessment. I just have ESPN app on there. For me, it allows me to keep my phone at my desk more or on my nightstand at night while i wear the Watch. Less radiation to my body (esp to my nuts) = better! I don't need to pull my phone out much at all.

$500 gadget oriented for sport and fitness lifestyle that is not water resistant?
brilliant! $20 Casio watch is. That is definition of crap.

Not water resistant?! Seriously?! Did you even look at the video or even do one ounce of research on Apple Watch? Come on dude, that was embarrassing! (See post #628)

That does make the rest of your post crap since you have no idea what you're talking about yet still wanted to post an (uneducated) opinion.

Did you know that a $20 Casio is more accurate and does more function and more water resistant than 99% of watches out there, including those that Hikenbike bought early on? So, does that mean that everything that costs more than $20 is crap? Your argument makes no sense.

Or how about those Armitron or Timex that i can buy at Walmart for under $10. Those do the same thing as your $20 Casio...does that mean Casio is crap too?

Can the $20 Casio measure heart rate at all? And note that Watch pulse monitor is top notch, easily on par with the best of chest monitors. In addition, Watch has a OXIMETER to measure your oxygen saturation...Apple has not turned it on yet but the hardware is there. THINK of the potential. Can your Casio get notifications (and dismiss them) or does have it a silent alarm? I can go on and on. But hopefully, you get my point.

I forgot his name earlier...but he was arguing how his Seiko 5 is just as good as a Rolex or Omega...so, according to his definition, then Rolex, Omega, Patek, etc. is crap. You see the flaw in your logic and conclusion?

well I guess you cant have a watch that only tells time like a watch is suppose to do as it only job.

Apple has today added a new guideline to the App Store Review Guidelines, the first clause specifically targeted at Apple Watch development. This rule that Watch apps that only tell time will be rejected has actually been enforced since Apple started accepting WatchKit submissions as many developers complained to find their apps had been rejected for this reason. The documentation change now formalizes this rule into an official policy.

No matter what crApple fanboys such as yourself will buy it to try useless gadgets once to forget about it next morning. i watched video alright along with 200other videos on youtube. I also went to apple store to try it. it`s nicely made toy. You like it you can buy it, hope you`ll enjoy it. Make more money for apple, I love it when apple stock goes up.
THis guy reply from your link is good and I quote
"Wanted to hate it...went to an Apple Store loved it...looks cool, feels even better. I realised it cannot go anywhere without my phone...no tracking my runs, gps directions to a restaurant....you cannot even properly reply to a text. Voice control is junk...everyone knows that. Stop pretending that you use Siri beyond seeing her reactions when you curse. It is pretty humorous try it. Screen is so small content viewing is painful. The notification system is really really cool feeling. Apple fan boys and those swayed by marketing will buy it. Its cost, limited utility, fragility and eventually ubiquity will kill it. While Apple is awesome they are not even the smart phone market leader. Time is unkind to hardware companies....ask previous market leaders Motorola, palm, blackberry, Nokia. Today's model is planned obsolescence. I have an iPad air and iPad 1. The one is near useless as new apps will not run on it and some force you to update the version. Then again Apple is 50% innovation and 50% "

.

This is about 3rd party watch faces. My guesses for this new are two:
1. Avoid lawsuits from Swiss companies, who have already publicly said that they will sue anyone who copies their face designs.
2. 3rd party faces may affect battery life...and we all know how vocal the public is with anything bad about Apple.

If you watched the video, then why make such an ignorant statement about water resistance? Kinda like with hikenbike on the other thread...just because it is easy to lie on the internet does not make it right.

Forget about it next morning? This is not Android dude.

For those who are as ignorant as you, please understand that Apple does honor 14 day return period. So, here's a thought...buy one (assuming you have an iPhone). You don't like it after 2 weeks, return it. Easy. No risk.

That is the problem with most (ignorant) folks who come to a conclusion about Watch without having a damn clue what it is or how it works. Spending 10 min with Watch at the store on a demo watch is HARDLY experiencing it.

As for Siri, if you're not in a noisy environment, then it works BETTER than with the iPhone. My guess is that Apple used a better mic (or processor whatever) with the Watch. I bet that the guy above tried to use SIRI at the store (noisy!) and found it to be lackluster. No shit.

As for the rest of the quote, i just had to laugh. THIS is the quote that you picked up on???!! iPad one came out in 2010?? 5 years later, he is complaining about it? How much does one pay for new flagship phones these days? $650? And these flagships lasts how long? For Android, probably 6 months? If my Watch can work well for 5 yrs, then i am way ahead of the game! :D And it should...why? There is not much computation from 3rd party apps needed since it does that thru your iPhone. The main processing with Watch is with its fitness stuff and monitoring, which works well now. The ONLY new wrinkle is the oxygen monitoring that will come in near future. Again, not a whole lot of computation...again unlike that of iPads and iPhones.
