My watch requirements:
- Holds accurate time
- I can look at it to see the time
- Must be able to read in the dark
- Must be waterproof because I never take it off
- Must be cheap because I never take it off
- Can't be too terribly ugly, but I value function over form
- Alarms and stopwatch are nice, but not necessary
- Ability to easily switch between time zones is nice, but not necessary.
My current Casio G-Shock serves perfectly; I think it cost $50 on sale. I experimented with multi-hundred-dollar watches a decade or so ago (almost bought one with a sapphire crystal for $1600), then I realized the expensive ones got just as scratched up and lasted just as long as the cheap ones.

Well, a Honda Civic guy can say that a Porsche 911t will get scratched up just like his Civic if you put a key to the paint. A Civic guy can say that he can go from point A to point B just as good as a Porsche. A Civic guy can say that a Porsche will be totalled just like his Civic if it crashed into a wall.
But does that mean that a Civic is just as good as a Porsche? :crazy:
A Suzuki Samurai can do everything a 4runner can do off-road...hell, maybe even more given its size and short wheelbase, but does that mean that it is just as good?
Everyone is different with different view on what they value.

Exactly! I really want to sink $20k in my 4Runner (armor, bumpers, rack, suspension, interior upgrades, etc.), when realistically I could take half that $20k and get a helluvan old beater woods truck which would run circles around my 4R. No one in my family understands why I want to beat up such a pretty vehicle in the woods.
If you get off on expensive accessories (for your arm or for your vehicle), and you can afford it, then go for it!
Personally, my cheap watch looks like a cheap watch and I'm good with that. I also wear cheap sunglasses.
I have the same one. Rock solid.
Omega Seamaster here as well. Great watch. You can wear it with a suit or shorts and a t shirt. Keeps great time as well.

I have a Submariner I bought years ago, but I barely wear it these days. I think it looks kind of dated, and the face is a little small.
I'm completely sold on Citizens for daily use. I have the Blue Angles edition, and it's unbelievable how often people comment on it. I'm thinking about buying a second one because the one I wear every day is starting to get a little beat up.

Nice watch but looking at this would give me a headache and I still wouldn't know what time it is......but that's just me.

There's a lot of functionality there, but luckily you don't need to worry about it unless you need it. The watch just takes care of itself. The only time I have to adjust it is when I change time zones, and that's really easy.
The date auto adjusts, even for leap years, and the time syncs to the atomic clock so it's always accurate to the second.

Good story. BUT, the question...how will they keep up with the other well-established watch brands (e.g. Omega, Rolex, Patek, AP)? These other brands use similar or better materials and each with their signature mechanical movement. I am afraid that Bremont may not be able to move upscale without a signature of their own.
For what's it worth, I had an early luminox and it was indeed junk. Sent it back under warranty once. Second time I just threw it in a drawer. I have since started limiting watches to mechanical movements with the exception of gshocks. Gshocks are great for everyday and any day. Always work (even the batteries seem to last forever), never break. The black resin is solid through, so doesn't show scratches like all of the popular coated watches (including luminox).
