Water leaking near gas pedal?

Hey guys after driving with the A/C on for about 40mins or so, i felt cold water running onto my right foot on the gas pedal(wearing flip flops)...luckily I was just getting home...turns out it only happens when the A/C is on cause it stops when I shut the A/C off....
searching through the threads the best I could come up with is possibly a clog in the hose that allows A/C condensation to run out of the vehicle, and is now running out onto my feet instead!
another possibility I found has something to do with the heater core, although I am not sure how much validity that has, but I don't know...I will check my coolant levels when the engine is cooler to make sure that is all straight...worries me with all the wiring nearby...this is where the cold water was coming from...thanks for the help....

With the AC running and sitting still, you should see the condensate coming out on the passenger side near the tie rod and should create a very noticeable puddle in a couple of minutes (depending on the humidity level) If you don't see any water your drain is clogged.

Good tip.

Another thought is that if it's draining from the heater core, that wouldn't be cold water... or even water.

Look more into the condensation idea.

Yes thats what I thought and just wanted to make sure it wasn't anything with the heater core...im gonna have to blow it out with some compressed air and hopefully unclog it....thanks

Echoing JRZEE2000TR4LTD's comment, would suggest the A/C drain tube exit is likely blocked.

This has happened to me nearly every year in the Spring once I turn on the AC. After running the A/C for a while, I would get drops of cool water on my shoes. If I took a really hard turn, a few pints would spill out from behind the dash in the opposite direction of the turn... I found my A/C drain plug was clogged up, which caused a pooling inside the car behind the radio somewhere (never found out where exactly, but there was a lot of water built up).

How I cleared it:

The AC condensate tube exits the cabin on the passenger's side firewall under the glove compartment. You should be able to pull back the carpet and see the plastic tubing. Remember the location for reference, as you will need to climb under the car and locate an aluminum tube about 1/2 inch in diameter (the tube exit will be facing the street). This is the terminal of that plastic condensate line. The piece is actually a 90 degree bend, the second half going into the plastic line. you can simply pull the aluminum tube out of the plastic tube and water should start flowing. Beware it comes out fast... Note, I stopped climbing under to find it and just reach behind the front passenger wheel now that I know where it is, but for this approach you need to pull back a few of the rubber splash guards.

I found that the bend of the aluminum had sediment in it and so I simply ran it under the sink with a flexible brush.

If the above does not fix your problem, consider if the block might be further upstream.

This solved my mysterious, occasional cool drop of water
hitting my foot.

Ideally we want one mega thread with lots of info and pictures, not 15 threads that dead end and one or two that are actually helpful. You did the right thing!
