First off, let me say that I only put this thread here because this sub forum gets the most attention. This thread should really go to the comments and suggestions sub forum but that forum doesn't really get a lot of views. After this poll/thread is concluded it will get moved. Let me also say that us moderators are not here to bust skulls and keep everyone in a straight and narrow. This is a community based forum and this board is here for everyone. We do our best to keep the majority happy. We are however going to enforce the rules that at one point was asked for by what seemed to be the majority voice in another thread http://www.toyota-4runner.org/off-topic/131379-how-make-site-better.html. I am specifically talking about the classifieds rules. What I would like to know is does the majority think that the rules are sufficient, too strict or not strict enough? What, if anything needs to be changed in the classified rules?
Some of the things that I have heard complaints about:
1) Putting a price in the title. A lot of people say that it's redundant because the price is usually in the thread. Also some people don't like it because if they lower their price then they cannot adjust the price in the title of the thread unless a mod edits it for them.
I can completely agree with the above and can see how putting the price in the title can be annoying since you cannot modify the title yourself.
2) Not being fair about enforcing the rules on everyone.
Keep in mind that there are tons of classified threads added every day. We cannot always do everything to please everyone. The mods here take a lot of time out of our day to help moderate this board and make it a better place for everyone. If some of you feel targeted than I honestly do apologize for it. Just know that you are not being singled out and we cannot catch everything or sometimes don't have time to fix/move everything.
3) What was my thread missing? It's been there for weeks and now it's gone!
Please read the classified rules. They are simple to follow but hopefully this thread will either confirm that they are sufficient or that there is a problem with them.
---------------------------------------------------
So, what does the majority say? Is everything "A-OK" or do we need to modify the rules?
I just have one thing to add. PLEASE keep this thread on topic and civilized. If you have something to say that doesn't pertain to classified rules and you think that it has to do with forum improvement then post your input in the linked thread above.
