With my current build, it would have been more recovering for the group and with no guarantees on trail conditions, I made the right call. Bummed to sit it out, but all the more motivation to lift sooner (still looking for that $ tree). Thanks for sharing your awesome adventure that had a little bit of everything! Next time I will ride with someone and photograph/spot/be a winch b!*#h all weekend.

Nevada

Nice Pics and I'm sure a learning experience too. with the tires......and there is no incorrect way to transverse the ladder ..when you are in "shape" ..pc goes out the window

Yeah, you definitely made the right call. Was challenging for some of the up-armored rigs with or without lifts, probably would've been bad going through the water section too.

A little more complicated. Will require some re-configuring of the swingarm. Single swings won't have an issue, dual and your propane tank will be in the way of the hatch opening unless the swingarm is fully extended past the detent.

Lift would have helped, biggest issue with this trip was a lack of winch and recovery points. I could have been drug out of a few of those obstacles if I had solid, accessible winch points. But I would have just pissed off Andy and the others if I kept getting stuck with no self recovery :thumb3:

Details on the propane tank holder?

Powertank 5-gal propane holder, custom weld job to the CBI dual jerry holder. I could've easily drilled holes into the jerry can holder and put bolts through, but since the jerrys have a tendency to expand under pressure I opted to weld another plate to have the bolts run through instead.

Clearance from back glass. Have run multiple high speed runs and wheeling runs, have not had issues with clearance.

If you run the CBI with dual swingouts, you'll probably run into a problem with the propane tank being in the way of the hatch opening. There's not really a good way for the tank to be positioned without it being in the way.

You'll need to remember to go past the detent which will clear the swingarm from the hatch. I'll probably re-weld this piece to get it to open further.

What made you switch from the DO front bumper to Shrockworks? I've been considering the DO since I can pick it up to avoid freight shipping.

Sorry for missing your PMs! I actually switched because of an accident. While the Demello held up well with no damage, insurance made me switch because it was missing powdercoat and I needed to repair it before they authorized the remaining repairs. The wait time on a new Demello was a bit more than the SW and I also didn't mind the change.

That being said I do have some feedback.

-The Demello is built very nicely with weight savings in mind. The internal structure/skeleton is framed and saves weight wherever possible. Whereas the Shrockworks is very stout and heavy. Depending on what type of wheeling or off-roading you do this may be an important consideration.
- The SW bumper hoops hug the body a little bit better than the Demello and they are closer to the body. I do have issues with the very top of my headlight cutoff hitting the beam of the bumper so I don't get as crisp of a cutoff. Minor annoyance that I can live with.
- Demello no longer sells their headlight filler pieces and recommend that you fab your own. The Shrockworks filler pieces aren't exactly a great fit either. If going SW bumper you cannot use anything besides the SW filler pieces. With the Demello bumper you can use a cut stock bumper which fits a bit better. You can also cut a stock Limited bumper without the gills and it looks very clean.
