I have black limited 18's, the paint is starting to look a bit rough. Do I need to sand it before i plasti-dip? or just go right over the current paint?

take wheels off, clean them good with soap and water, and spray the plasi-dip. Works well, lots of people do it. Youtube Plasti-dip wheels and you will see quiet a few.

Emblems

I was planning on plasti-dipping my emblems, but didn't want just black. I just wasn't sure if I could paint over the dip. Now all I need to do is pick my color. Cool.

they make red, yellow, blue, and silver plasti-dip if you wanted to avoid painting

Looks awesome, I have an 06 sport in white and I want to do the same thing. Did you remove the tires and valves and everything prior to painting? or did you just tape it all off and have at it? I've painted things before, I would just rather not remove the tires if I don't have to.

so what do you use to clean the wheels? are they easy to clean now that they have a rough texture?

Didnt remove tires or valves. Took wheels and tires off vehicle, cleaned really good, let dry. Bought some playing cards from the $1 store,(2packs for $1) take the cards and place between the wheel and tire, fits tightly and doesnt come out. Look at youtube, others do it this way.

I just wash with a wash mit and soap like I always have. Its not really "rough" just not smooth as stock. perfect for me.

does adding the plasti dip not throw off you tire balancing? i'd be worried id get a shake after, i hate it when a tire isnt balanced!!

Sorry Momo never saw you posted. Everything is still perfect, no change what so ever. Tires are awesome, wheels are awesome. My dad actually mentioned the other day when i saw him, how well it holds up. Still like it.
