No DAC (Downhill Assist Control) button? Are you also missing Hill Start Assist and VSC (Vehicle Stability Control)? These are all based off the same advanced braking and ride contoller. I think they have cheaped out on the driveline options, like you said to keep the cost down.

Yep! No question about it!

Lospri, would you have any way of posting a sound clip of your 4Runner? I would love to hear that lil diesel Pur!!!

Jake

Yes I could try that!
I know that on the clip it may sound a little louder, but in general it's really quite, though never ever it's gonna be the same as gasoline. But here we're thirsty about diesel engines, based on gas prices and economy!

I'm doing the clip this afternoon and post it tonite!
I might do it very short though so it can be posted!

I understand if you don't want to say, and that it may be rude of me to ask, but I'm just too curious, so how much does a 4runner like yours cost?

Well, I have no problem.
there's a couple of things i have to say for your knowledge, here we have to deal with a lot of customs taxes from the goverment at the moment all vehicles come from overseas, so that increases the price, that's so crazy that to give you an example, if you bring
an used 2001 toyota corolla from miami, you almost have to pay the same money here at customs, that you pay for the hole car in miami!!!...to let you get the car into the country.
so that's why I think they took some accesories out, when the car come direct from Japan, to compensate the price paid in the factory with the final price.
the price here is US$46,500.00 but thanks to a friend of mine I ended up paying US$43,500.00!!!!!!!
:awais:

but it's a video clip...

lospri5050,

Your Runner is nice, I wish all Limiteds came with the hood scoop. I was told that there is some type undercoating specific for saltwater (some type of burnt motor oil).

I've been waiting for a bull-bar with more bumper protection, and yours is exactly what I was looking/waiting for. I would like to purchase it, so if you could post any info that would help locate it, I would greatly appreciate any help.

Well, I dont have that much of a problem with the salt water, that was just once to get the pics for the forums, next day all washed up with special products...so no pro!!!
and yes on monday I'll give you all the details about the front grille!
Thanks anyway for your concern!!!!!! :rocker:

This bull bar is popular in the Caribbean.
It's a taiwanese manufacturer called "Strona". http://www.strona.com.tw
They don't make a bar for the 4Runner. This one is designed for the Mitsubishi Montero, but somehow they make it fit the 4th Gen T4R.

No, I don't mean for it to be a pain for you. I already have a guard on the front and definitely can't afford to get a new one already. I'm just curious and I'm sure there will be others that will want to copy you. So, don't go to any extended effort on my account. Thanks anyway.

Well, if you click here you will see that they don't make a model for any 4Runner.
Whatever they put on your T4R wasn't meant for a T4R.

if it's not meant to the T4R...fine.... if it is....fine too!!!
thanks.

:D

Want to check? Just go to Esca and check the ones they have there, and look for a sticker with the brand name.

By the way, great pictures my friend!

Ok you guys..sorry for the delay. I got all the info about the front grilled....it's made in taiwan, the company is called UNCLE. and the front grilled is designed for Toyota Prado and the 4Runner. (cause the prado and the 4Runner has the same Chassis)
I surfed their website but is kind of difficult, anyway I went to ESCA and they showed me the hole catalog.
the part # is 639 4Runner or 639 Prado.
his website is
www.uncle888.com.tw

Cool, thx man. I couldn't find the catalog stuff you're talking about but I did find some 2004 4runner pics: http://www.uncle888.com.tw/gallery/toyota-4-runner2004 The pics have only one or two views, so it should be interesting to see how many there will be after we start looking at them. No grill guard that I could see though, maybe only painting a roof rack.

I wonder how much this guard is.

Yeah that's what i said you really can't see much in the website, but i saw the hole catalog at ESCA, with pics, part # and evrything. I think if anyone interested just email uncle888 and maybe they send the catalog.
Uhmm I'd say that if I got here with instalation and customs cleared and all that stuff for US$300 it probbably cost in Taiwan like 70 to 100 dollars.

Front grille

Ok Now I got it!
AS the toyoya Prado has the same chassis (they also have the very same diesel engine) only The prado is $15,500 more expensive.
they designed the same front grille.

HERE
you can see the page

So there you go!
