Glad you are ok. I had a situation long time ago which came close and I was glad I was in the car I was, because if it was any other cars I would probably total the car and hurt myself. Do you wonder if it was another truck that you might off not be so lucky. Once again im glad you are ok and I guess good that 4runner can lean on the side so much before rolling over.

Glad you're came out of it unscratched and managed to recover your truck. What an experience though! I can imagine how scared you must have been when it happened. Funny that most accidents happen in blink of an eye when you least expect that anything might go wrong. How lucky you are - You should buy a lottery ticket

Thank you guys for all your kind words and comments... I can tell you that you're driving a very safe SUV. I feel very confident with my safety in the truck.

The truck was absolutely fine and no damage occurred. I've not been back to that location (my friends house) since the incident, though I am planing to go back to shoot a video of the bank as still cant believe I didn't roll, I really cannot believe I didn't.

I've been there before. The most scared I've ever been in my life was when I started to roll off a cliff. Even years later I will think back about it and will start to get scared. Definitely a post traumatic stress situation.

You definitely lucked out that you weren't injured and the vehicle was recovered intact.

Geeez... yeah put it this way.... I had some CRAZY dreams and sleepless night Monday night.

Your side curtains did not deploy because of the angle was not great enough and the TIME it took to get to that angle was too slow

Yeah... that was crazy it slid a foot or two. In the end I stopped recording and held his brakes down as his truck was almost in the side of the mountain.

I know exactly how he felt.
while I wasn't quite as close to the edge as he was, mine was a cliff, with a vertical drop-off.
I sat down and just THOUGHT about the situation for atleast 30 minutes. it took me that long to work up the courage to get back in the truck. I had to drive it out...

with stock gears and 33's, I got the clutch so hot that it wouldn't even grab, and had to let it cool down several times. I finally made it out, but its something i'll never forget.

Its not something I EVER wish to feel or experience again. So I know what you mean.

Good question. As I wasn't really off-road and really just commuting so to speak, it hasn't. Had it been on a trail by myself.... yeah it would of put me off for a few months.

From the looks of the video, the tow truck driver has done it many times in the past? Hooking-up to the right points and with pull carefully and slowly so not to cause any more additional harm to your T4R...

Well... The points of recovery and double snatch block where my idea and intention to which he agreed. He's a large man and had little interest in climbing straight up those slopes to reach the trees to attach the chains and snatch blocks. However his compliance and know how was a fortunate situation for me.

It was actually a d-ring that was connected to the factory loop hook which as you know is welded to the frame.

NOPE... 80% human error, 20% road erosion. Was going really slowly (<10mph) and Physics and its law of gravity came into play so the tires had little to no "role"in the incident.
