Hey all, I just moved to the grand junction area from illinois. Would love to do maybe some weekend stuff around the area. Even just riding along spotting and taking pics would be a blast.
Here's some pics (hopefully) from coal canyon last week.

Not the flexiest thing in the world but it was a pretty good price and it made it here from Illinois so I can't complain. Message me if you want to meet up and hit something in the area. Still working on the whole job thing so I have some free time :couch2:

No, I'm actually pretty far but any chance to go wheeling is worth the drive. I live in Bennett, CO (exit 304 on I-70) it's about 30 min east of Aurora.

The DesertRunners are going to be in the San Rafael Swell the weekend of March 28th. Joiners are welcome, stock trucks with good tires should be fine, might have to park and ride shotgun for one or two sections. Details are still being worked out here: 1st Quarter club run, the Swell.

I'll consider coming down. Keep us updated as plans get nailed down. This was the first place I ever took our 4Runner off-roading. Bone stock, was a good time.

So right now the plan is to camp Friday night at the Wedge, join the BLM for a trail maintenance project Saturday morning at Buckmaster Draw, wheel Black Dragon and Three Fingers Saturday afternoon and check out the rock art, then down to Copper Globe mine to camp Saturday night.

I'll be heading to Moab from 12-18 April. It was supposed to be a club trip, but everybody bailed so it's just gonna be me and the wife. I'm down to meet up if anyone wants to. Hi all, I am gonna be down in Canyonlands May 20-24-ish. Just figured I'd post in here to see if anyone wanted to meet up.show me around?

My plan is to be leaving home on Sunday the 17th, driving down to San Fran and staying the night with friends. Monday the 18th I'll be driving down to the San Diego area to spend the evening and next day with family down there. So possibly heading up the 15 through Las Vegas on the 19th. Then through St. George Utah and over to Canyonlands on the 20th. From there I am pretty open for at least 3-4 days. After Canyonlands it will be a long drive home over 2-3 days. I am stoked, but damn that is a lot of driving!

That's a grip of driving, for sure. Get a copy of the Moab Bible and show yourself around , any of his blue or green trails are good for a stocker, and maybe a couple of the reds if you're good enough.

Family drives a Subaru, so hard wheeling is out, and we've got a 1 y/o, so any mountain biking beyond smooth doubletrack is out, so I guess we're looking for fun hikes, scenic drives, and an awesome primitive camp location.

How close to Grand Jumction do you want to stay? My suggestion would be to camp, hike etc all on the Grand Mesa, but its a ways from town.

No history etc that I can think of to point you to. Good hiking, fishing, camping etc. on the Grand Mesa. Grand Junction is in the desert, and not in a particularly interesting one at that. If you do head up on the Mesa take bug spray, with all the water that is up there the bugs can get thick at times.
