Last night the headlights on my 68 Ford F100 seemed a bit dim. Turn signals barely flashed.
So I removed the alternator today to have it tested next time we go to town.
Three wires, 2 bolts. Alternator out in 5 minutes (if that).
Thirty years ago I swapped the 45 amp unit for a huge 95 amp. If it needs replacing, I wonder if there's a smaller size, high output unit that will work? And, if the new crop of partsme... partspersons can find one.
What's involved with removing the alternator on a 5th gen 4runner?
