What a difference! FJ TT sprigs/shocks 1/2 spacer and air bags.

Just finished the install I did fj trail teams springs and bilstein shocks 1/2 toytec spacer and firestone air bags. The Ride is great and the bilsteins have a lot more rebound dampening then the stockers. As others have said this a great mod I would never go back to stock.Side note the bilsteins that came with the springs were a lot bigger around than the stock runner shocks.Lifted it nice and the boards are dead level.The pic of the seven pin harness is the two air fills for the bags. Great mod. How much lift did you get with this overall?
Just curious on the air bags, what are these used for exactly? Sorry if that is a dumb question. I don’t know what air bags add in terms of capabilities that is.

Thanks. In the front about 1.75 in the rear about .75 the air bags help when towing not to sag the rear out. I pulled my boat to the gas station last nite and the worked great!

Where did you get the air bags from?

I got the bags from a friend of mine who is a dealer. They are firestone coil rites. They are about 100.00 and any parts dealer can order them for you or there are some on ebay. There also is another brand Air Lift 1000.

I pulled the boat 60 miles round trip yesterday and the air bags worked great! We had 6 people in the 4runner (3rd seat) and the loaded boat and it towed so much better. I put 10lbs in the bags. What do other people run in there bags when towing?

The Firestone look longer to me (based on that one pic). How much of the bumpstop did you cutoff?

Maybe that's why the few extra dollars:shrug:

Mine stiffens up as the pressure goes up. I have thought if the bag had greater volume it would work better at the higher pressures.

u can talk to them & get longer ones or xtra pucks if need be. my bump stops are cut completly off & the bags fills up the whole spring. the only thing i dont care for is the way its plumbed into the bottom of the perch, it should come with a right angle fitting so the line doesnt get crimped.

There is about a inch left of the bump stop. Chris what psi do you run in yours when towing?
