Well I took the speakers out today and put some double sided sticky foam I had lying around on the metal edge near the windshield and it appears that was the fix. Only time will tell. I did add electrical tape to the top of the crossover just to ensure the screws don't contact any metal. And to make the speakers fit i trimmed the speaker grill plastic ring. Thanks all
I didn’t have to trim anything but it took me good 5 or 10 minutes to make it fit on the driver side. The passenger side was easy and snapped in without any resistance.
Sorry I can’t give you any useful tips but it should fit without any trimming.
Harper, did you install crossovers with your MB Quart speakers in the front door? If so, where did you place them?

Went to Best Buy last week and bought some 200HZ Bass Blockers. Came to $14 after tax. Installed yesterday and yeah definitely worth the money. Yes they did sound good before but now it sounds great. Everything is more clear, and you can really crank up the tunes without any added distortion.
Now I just need to install my B-Quiet inside my doors to stop all my unwanted rattle noises... For another day I guess.

As quite a few people mentioned on here already, the audio seems to sound better with the Party Mode on. I have my party mode on and set the fader to the rear #3 so it sounds balanced up front.
I also finally installed my B-Quiet Sound Deadener into all 4 doors and the rear hatch. Doors when closed make a thump now vs. a ting, Road noise is a tad quieter inside and the audio sounds a bit better as well.
A side note, I have seen pics and read about people's opinions regarding the stock OEM door speakers but until you actually see them yourself and hold them in your own hand, you cannot really comprehend how cheap they are. I was shocked, they weigh close to nothing and the magnet, well lets just say there is a shiny piece in the back that resemble a small magnet but nothing I would write home about.

I didn't replace them, just removed them to install the sound deadener stuff. I wish I had more bass but overall I am happy with the way the speakers sound now with the Infinity Kappa's in the dash and the sound deadener inside the doors.
If anything I might just pick up a Powered Bazooka sub, and mount it above the rear fender some day.

I just did this mod today and it sounds great. I have a Limited with Nav. The Kappa's are much smoother then the factory speakers. Now the front stageing sounds less directional and harsh. But like others posted, because they are smoother I find I have to fade a little toward the front. By far the best bang for the buck improvement on the factory system without having to replace the entire system.

I just installed the Kappa front speakers today in my 1 month old 2011 4R and wanted to say "THANKS" to all who gave their time to making the install go sooooo easy! It took me 30 minutes including making the new brackets, and best of all the wife NOTICED the difference... That never happens!!!!

do the Kappa speakers help with midrange, or just yield more highs?
for my tastes, the stock sound is all bass and treble, no midrange (no guitars!), and very limited ability to dial midrange. I've set my bass to -5 and treble to 0 in an attempt to get some midrange, and it is still too weak.

The kappas are two way because there are two drivers really. Tweeter and mid. They are really tweeters that have a little more range.
The factory speakers are a single driver that tries to cover all of that. And pretty much suck at it.
In the end they will cover the same range, maybe more, ad just plain sound better.

"party mode" specifically won't have any affect either way on how long you can run the stereo on the battery.
FWIW I have run the stereo on previous cars for >4 hours with no problems, especially if it's only the factory stereo, no extra amps, subs, etc.. Just make sure to start it every few hours.

From personal experience, I can tell you that the car shuts itself off before the battery dies. I routinely go out to the lake and leave party mode on with the back hatch open. The vehicle monitors the battery level and shuts itself off instead of draining the battery completely.
